Drive-through emergency food relief More than 3,500 food hampers were distributed to people in need during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic via a joint project between the City of Stirling, Vinnies WA, Second Bite and Share the Dignity. The hampers ultimately supported about 9,500 people. Until late June, temporarily redeployed City staff helped pack thousands of hampers containing fresh fruit and vegetables and non-perishable foods. The hampers were then distributed to people experiencing hardship using a drive-through service based at Stirling Community Centres – Balga.

The collaborative project proved a great opportunity to work with

Vinnies WA and expand on an existing relief service delivered by the City in partnership with SecondBite and Share the Dignity, which offers fresh food and sanitary packs to people in need. Due to ongoing community need, Vinnies WA now operates a weekly emergency relief food service for City of Stirling residents at 97 Delawney Street, Balcatta on Tuesdays between 10.00am and 1.00pm. Please contact Vinnies WA on 1300 794 054 for more details or to register for food hampers.
