Yellow-Lid Recycling Bin Update Due to changes in the types of recyclable materials being accepted by overseas recyclers, some changes have been made to what can go in your yellow-lid recycling bin. Items that can no longer be put in your recycling bin include aerosol cans, plastic bags, cling wrap, polystyrene and other ‘scrunch-able’ items like cereal bags. Materials that can still go in your recycling bin include cardboard, glass, paper, hard plastic containers, aluminium cans and steel cans. Street Trees Thanks to all our dedicated volunteers, more than 6,000 street trees were planted across the City this season. The City would also like to thank everyone for being so receptive to having new trees planted on street verges. Street trees offer many benefits to the community including increased ambient temperatures. Free Trees Residents can register for two free trees through the

City’s Living Green program. Just visit www.stirling.wa.gov. au/urbanforest to register and we will let you know when the next event is happening so you can collect your free trees.

Report Illegal Dumping We all know illegal dumping looks horrible, costs ratepayers money and lowers property value, but did you know it can also harm our environment, people and pets? It’s a community problem that we need our community to help stop! If you see illegal dumping, please take note of the person or vehicle (including the number plate and time of incident) and phone the Customer Contact Centre on (08) 9205 8555.
