5.1 Background data Effective lifecycle management relies on: • Accurate and up-to-date data on the asset base • Suitable processes and systems to collect, store and analyse the information • Forecasts, planning and management strategies based on the agreed levels of service • Appropriate operational activities to support the management of the assets and services.

5.1.1 Physical parameters The assets covered by this asset management plan are shown in Table 2.1. The City’s 484 buildings consist of community and recreational facilities, City recreational and community facilities, City operational buildings, City commercial buildings, public shade sails. Each of the City’s 484 buildings are further categorised as major or minor buildings. There are currently 226 major buildings, comprising administration buildings, aquatic centres, recreation centres, community centres, libraries, clubrooms, changerooms and public toilets. There are also 258 minor buildings, comprising structures, sheds, stores, shelters, shade sails and other minor structures. The age profile and the gross replacement cost of the City’s major and minor buildings included in this asset management plan are shown in Figure 5.2. toilets and/or changerooms, structures, stores, shelters and
