Illegal dumping The City’s waste education team has been rolling out an educational campaign about illegal dumping. This is to show residents how they can dispose of items for free within the City in an effort to minimise illegal dumping. Illegal dumping is unsightly and can reduce property value. Annual fire safety and firebreak property requirements All land owners and residents within the City must ensure their properties comply with the City’s requirements for the upcoming fire season. For land area less than 2,000m 2 : Slash/mow all grass to a height no greater than five centimetres and remove all flammable material. Land area greater than 2,000m 2 : Install a continuous three metre wide firebreak, clear of all flammable material, around all structures and along all external boundaries of the land. Required works must be completed before 30 November and maintained until 31 March each year. If your property does not meet the firebreak requirements, you may be issued with a $250 fine and charged for any remedial works. For more information visit www.stirling.wa.gov.au/firebreaks
